Dragon Raja 2; Chapter 194: Deadly Sword for Every Dragon King (6)

Dragon Raja 2

As soon as she stepped out of that dust cloud, more Ji Ghost Birds screeched and lunged at her. Their jagged wings overlapped, completely covering her.

“Hey! Hey!” Lu Mingfei shouted into his phone, but there was no response.

“Idiot… who’s the idiot?” he mumbled, slumping weakly onto the seat, now reduced to just a layer of foam. He could only receive calls but not make them.

Nono was really a fool—she didn’t even give him a chance to say anything. Where did she think he was? Waking up groggy in a hotel after a gaming binge? Don’t be stupid! I’m right here in the Nibelungen! I just helped the poker-faced senior take down a Dragon King! Of course, he did most of the work… But if his emotional turmoil hadn’t clouded his judgment, we would’ve taken down the other Dragon King too! We just narrowly escaped death! We are the protagonists of this play! Get it straight! Those dead birds chasing you are now flying around us, and we can’t even be bothered to care—they’re just retreating remnants, not worth a second glance.

You want me to run? You’re the one who should run! Whatever you do now, it’s too late. “Shiva’s Tandava” is being released. You can’t stop anything, and we might be done for too. When you’re lining up at the gates of heaven, you’ll see me waving at you—assuming “coveting someone else’s girlfriend” isn’t grounds for going to hell.

“Don’t stir my heart out of boredom… you didn’t even send a message on my birthday.” Lu Mingfei muttered.

Damn, why did that sound so resentful?

You didn’t even send a message on my birthday, but now that I might die, you remember to tell me to run. Wedding Center? Picking rings, or taking wedding photos? If you really wanted to do me a favor, you should’ve just vanished from my world so I wouldn’t have to remember you anymore.

Lu Mingfei noticed Chu Zihang looking at him—was it mockery or pity in his eyes? He couldn’t tell.

“What are you staring at, huh? Senior Brother, aren’t you worse off than I am?” Lu Mingfei grumbled internally, reaching out to touch the black case beside him, annoyed that his senior had missed the chance. All he remembered to do was cover his rumored girlfriend’s body with a jacket. If he’d just pulled out “Seven Deadly Sins” and struck the Dragon King, this wouldn’t be happening now.

“Enough.” Chu Zihang stood up. “You’re taking control. Hold the circuit breaker with your right hand and follow my instructions to gradually increase the voltage. Don’t touch the buttons on the left side.”

Chu Zihang connected the wires one by one, grabbed the large black dial with his right hand, and placed his left fingers on a row of brass switches. “Ready?”

Lu Mingfei gripped the circuit breaker nervously and nodded hard.

“Before we try starting this, I need to tell you something.” Chu Zihang looked out through the windshield-less front window at the Kamaitachi swirling in the dark. “You’ll have opportunities too. But whether you can seize them is up to you.”

“What are you talking about?” Lu Mingfei was bewildered.

“If you like someone, go find her. Don’t wait for her to come to you—she might be waiting for you too. Don’t let her end up disappointed in you. If the person you like is getting married, confess to her—even if it means breaking the axle of her wedding car. It’s your last chance to say it. Taking this secret to your grave has no value—not even as a burial treasure.”

“Hey, hey… why is this turning into a late-night relationship talk show? Senior Brother, wake up… don’t get possessed by the god of gossip!” Lu Mingfei was dumbfounded.

“Voltage at 150V.” Chu Zihang ordered firmly, stomping on the pedal and releasing the mechanical brake.

Lu Mingfei, unable to keep up with his senior’s sudden change of tone, pushed the circuit breaker. The rust ground within the machinery.

Chu Zihang steadily turned the dial, his left hand precisely flicking each brass switch, as if playing a piano. The long-dormant control panel lit up, indicator lights flashing, and dials flickering erratically.

“It really works!” Lu Mingfei exclaimed in surprise.

“Voltage at 300V!” Chu Zihang shouted. The roughly connected wires emitted blinding sparks, a burnt plastic smell wafting through the air.

“600V! Keep going! Don’t stop!”

Lu Mingfei felt vibrations underfoot—the motor was starting to rumble, electricity surging into the ancient coils, and sparks flying from deep within the iron wheels.

“This might cause an electrical fire!” Lu Mingfei shivered. “Can it really start up?”

“I don’t know.” Chu Zihang said quietly, turning to look at Lu Mingfei. “But some things are worth gambling on. Remember? On our way to the airport, I told you—saving your life is about knowing when to use it. Full power!” he roared.

Lu Mingfei stopped caring—he used all his strength and pushed the circuit breaker to the top.

In the brilliant electric sparks, the entire control panel lit up, and the lights in the carriages turned on one by one from front to back. The needles on all the gauges rose steadily to a certain point. From beneath his feet came the sound of iron wheels grinding against the tracks—the old DK1 model had come alive again in Chu Zihang’s hands, beginning to accelerate.

“Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah! Am I dreaming? This is crazy! I’m going insane!” Lu Mingfei jumped for joy, nearly forgetting the awkwardness of a male-on-male hug—science students were definitely more hardcore!

But then he realized Chu Zihang wasn’t beside him anymore. He turned sharply, seeing Chu Zihang holding the black box, taking steps backward, getting further and further away. His golden eyes looked as though they were freezing over.

“Don’t… don’t be foolish! Let’s escape together! You can’t handle this—no one can!” Lu Mingfei suddenly realized what this desperate man was planning.

“Do you know why I chose you as a team member?” Chu Zihang didn’t respond, only speaking to himself. “Because you need confidence. Caesar is the hero who killed Norton, the center of everyone’s attention. Standing beside him, you’d be overshadowed by his brilliance. But if you killed Fenrir, you’d at least be confident that you’re just like Caesar. Things he can do, you can do too.”

He turned toward the back of the train. “This is a mission you and I completed together—our honor. Take hold of your opportunity. The girl you like will grow up… and leave you… one day, never to return.”

His whole body slowly grew covered in fine scales, like a dark green armor. The scales suddenly tightened, his joints reversed, and his fingernails extended into claws. He sprinted, his domain exploding—a flash of blazing black flames melted a huge hole in the back of the train. He leaped into the darkness outside.
